Using SMS Voting for Man of the Match

 

We have also developed our system to be used by sporting clubs and other similar organisations, for supporters and viewers to be able to interact with the event for purposes such as voting for their Man of the Match.

 

Upon registering, you receive a keyword which is unique to yourselves for the duration of your contract.

 

Participants then simply text your keyword plus any information you wish them to submit, for example the shirt number of the player they wish to vote for as Man of the Match.

 

Our system collates all of the votes telling you how many people have voted, and which person has the most votes. We can provide as much or as little analysis on the votes as you like. You can also pick a person at random from those who text in to vote, who could be chosen to win a prize. People who text in are only charged their standard network rate.

 

Having now completed a successful trial of this we are pleased that AFC Bournemouth have signed up to use our system for the full 2011/12 Season.

The benefits of this system to the organisation using it are as follows:

 

• Firstly you are collecting a database of mobile numbers of people who are actively interested in the sport, as well as spending money on the product already which shows they are more likely to commit to spending money again, you can also use our service to broadcast an SMS message, to those people, at regular or irregular intervals.
• Having a “Fan’s Man of the Match” or something similar, also gives you something that can be offered to businesses for sponsorship, either on a match by match basis, or over the course of the season. Sponsors can also choose (at their cost) to send a reply text back to the voter, saying something like “Thanks for voting for the Man of the Match sponsored by XXXX, show this message at any XXXX venue today to receive a 10% discount”.
• You are also increasing interactivity with fans, and giving them an opportunity to express their preferences on who has performed well, which adds value to the ticket price, especially if you can offer something for a winner. It also gives fans a quick and easy way to get feedback to you, which is increasingly important in this day and age.
• The system can also be used to run competitions where people can text in their answer, thus building your database further.
• We have the ability to capture e-mail addresses, which can be used for e-mail marketing if necessary, as well as sending out e-mails containing specified information in response to adverts, with PDF’s or other such files included.

 

The system is very easy to use, and results can either be obtained via our web site, or by simply sending a text message to the system.

We charge a one-off setup fee of £400, which registers your keyword for the duration of your time with us and sets up your account on our system to hold all of your data.

 

Following that, there is a charge for using the system, per match/event dependant on the number of matches/events that you want to use it for.

 

There is a per text charge for any outbound texts sent by the system, which is dependent on volume with a maximum charge of 10pence per text.
